INTRODUCTION

Welcome to an exciting and challenging year at LHMS! There is much to learn in Science so we will be moving quickly. It is important that students keep up with the subject matter by reviewing your notes and other class work each night. To be successful in this class it is important that you come to class each day ready to learn and carefully follow the expectations for each student.

CLASS BEHAVIOR

To do your best, it is important that you feel physically and emotionally safe in class, therefore the cornerstone of behavior in science class is respect - respect for other's feelings, respect for learning, respect for property, and respect for safety. To safeguard your right to learn, students having difficultly maintaining respect for LHMS and/or classroom rules will first be warned and then assigned detentions and/or write-ups. During this time, parents will be contacted. If the disruptive behavior continues, the student will receive further appropriate disciplinary action from the office.

GRADING

Your grade for each six weeks will be determined by the following percentages:

Homework / Classwork 45%

Labs / Activities 10%

Test 45%

Bonus Points may be earned throughout the grading period by turning work in early, taking notes, and other assignments.

There is No extra credit work and No grades are dropped!! Therefore students should do their BEST on each assignment given!!
